GEF Small Grants Programme

The GEF Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) is a funding mechanism of the Global Environment Facility (GEF) in cooperation with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) that provides financial and technical support to communities and civil society organisations to meet the overall objective of global environmental benefits secured through community-based initiatives and actions. So far, the programme has given over 580 mln USD in grant funding to more than 21500 projects around the world.

The GEF SGP contributed financially to the development of the Beta version of our MEGA Game platform and the organisation of the MEGA Impact Championship in 2015 and 2016. Nowadays, the programme provides financial support to MEGA in the form of a grant for implementing our GreenTech Rangers pre-acceleration programme for sustainability startups in 2019 and 2020, as well as for developing the new version of our learning-and-community-building on-line platform.
